I learned that I was not good enough, but that I was okay because I simply had to do what I can. I also learned that power is as only good as the people who have it.

Oh? Are you interested in any of them? The first Court that I curried for favor in was Maria Makiling's.

Uhm, well I was hoping you could help me out with those. I decided to ask you because you might be more familiar with them. What happens in that court?

Honestly? Nothing much. Once the Lord or Lady of the Court has recognized you as one of their own, you're generally going to be left to your own devices. The only time that changes is if they need an agent to help them out with something.

It's a pretty sweet deal, actually. Being part of a Court that's aligned to the Vigil gives you a little more protection against the Gentry. It also makes it easier to meet other Lost, and maybe make new friends.

[ Okay, very relevant info. ]

Oooh, I could use some extra security, yeah. I'd... want to help out others too, just as you helped me.

Then you should definitely go for a Court once you're ready. Getting into other Courts becomes easier once you have your foot in the door with one anyway, and it grants you enough political immunity to learn Contracts that you'd normally have to wrangle and wheedle for.

You're still new to this, Bri. Courts only take notably strong Changeling, and they also look for specific skill sets. You're getting there, and I'll make sure that you get there in record time, but for now? Best if you figure out which Court you'll like to be a part of.

[ She's smiling now. ]

I trust you will. God, I swear I'd be so lost without you. I've talked to Lia about it just yesterday, asked for her take on it. Cause yknow, I just want to be sure and all. This isn't something I want to do half-assed.

Not the tight, bone-crushing hug though, but it's tight enough to convey what Brianna's really feeling: plain gratitude. ]

[She's hugging right back, because honestly? She's happy that she got to save another one. She hasn't always been successful.]
