Waking the Dead 2.0 || May 18, 2063 || The Mandatory Hot Springs Episode

[The skies are clear, the air is cool, and overall? Conditions are perfect for spending the entire afternoon and maybe even the entire night at the hot springs within Seigi. It's open to Zangyaku operatives and their families, along with any of their guests.

Oh, they're also communal. Surely no one minds? It's just skin, after all.

You're allowed to smoke, drink and eat while you're chilling out in the pools. You can also play cards, have a round (or several) of ping pong, flop around... anything goes, as long as you don't kill anybody!]

+ Make your own threads, plot out your own shenanigans and whatever else. Just remember: War Hounds and the rest were probably invited there after lunch, and are more than welcome to spend the rest of the day there. Y'all might want to specify the time. :3

[Smiling up at the girl, and moving to make more room. It's a calculated gesture: she can feel Yulia Bostova's discomfort, and the last thing that she wants is for a guest under her roof to fail to enjoy herself.]

Here. Why don't you join me? I could use the company.

[Besides, she is curious about this one. She has read her file.]

[And immediately coming over. She places one paw on his thigh, briefly, before curling right up beside him.]

There is no need to thank me. It is what I am meant to do now. And, as things stand, I should be the one thanking you.

[ She's distracted, talking while things are going on in her head. She's slightly afraid of Tohru, especially after what she saw he was capable of doing, but comfortable enough to be candid with him. Kind of like how one knows that another is perfectly capable of erasing their existence in just a snap, but trusts that other person enough to know that unless one does something that the other perceives as a threat, then the other will not touch her. Yay! ]

I agree with you. Interesting things keep happening when you've got a bunch of people with interesting personalities. It's kinda fun reading into them too.

[ She then faces him and smiles, gesturing at the pipe with her gaze. ]

[So these two have comandeered one of the largest pools all for themselves. There are a lot of sake bottles lining the edge of it.

A lot. Of sake bottles.

They're also noisy as fuck, by the way.]

[ She blinks, a little surprised at the invitation. But she nods and moves closer, holding on to the towel that covered her. ]

[Leaning back now, looking perfectly at ease with being in a place like this. She had been the same earlier, with men and women coming around to join her.]

Tonight is a good night for something like this, don't you think?

I try my best to. Personally, though, I feel most fulfilled when I am on the battlefield.

[Which might just be the reason why he drinks like a fish and smokes like a chimney when he isn't on duty.]

[ Brigade thinks on it then smiles ] No, Ma'am, it was only the right thing to do.

[ He thinks of how things changed between him and Hikaru after that day ] And you're the one who brought him and me to try trusting each other as an option.

[ Brigade laughs at that ] Well, I have no defense for that. It's military or plain for me.

[ He sits down beside her and appreciates her skill and music ] I hope you don't mind if I sit here and listen. Are you a minstrel like Inquisitor Gideon?

Feel free. And I am, actually. We both possess Grand Songs, and trained under the same master. The only real difference between us is the fact that he is human, and I'm really not now.

[Cool and casual. It stopped bothering her a long time ago.]

[Plopping her head down on his leg now, glancing up.]

[ She smiles. In her mind, they are two incredibly different people, sitting down, just having a chat. ]

And then, a sudden curious thought floats in her mind. ]

How's it like being a dad though?

[ Brigade recalls what he's read of Minstrels in general ] You're a changeling, Ma'am? [ Brigade glances a way to look for and find his Blademate. ] Have you met my Blademate? Your sister's "besty"? [ He looks at the girl with fondness. Like a little sister of his own. ]

Mm, [ she nods ] it's very relaxing here.

[ She tries mimicking Kasumi, being so at ease in the springs, but all she manages to do is sink a little further down in the water. ]

I am not sure if I am the best person to ask in that regard. My family is a little strange.

[Noticing that, of course. But saying nothing. She has a crowd to entertain.]

I have, actually. Hikaru had both Tala and I go into Arcadia in order to save her.

It's be my honor and pleasure, Ma'am. [ Brigade crosses his legs to make for her a more comfortable space and lifts her up and places her there ]

I would very much like to see Brianna come to closure with her demons. [ He sighs. ] And hopefully then I'll be more than just a 122-year-old Hunter so I can give her whatever support she needs as well.
