Waking the Dead 2.0 || May 19, 2063 (Saturday) || Friendship in the cups.

[It's a little after lunch with the Shinta Clan that Kasumi Aoi makes an interesting suggestion: that the War Hounds wile the afternoon hours away in good company with their mentors, former or otherwise, that can make it. Invitations are easy; she can handle them.
So, there you have it: doing things the Japanese way, talking over sake, nibbling idly on onigiri and whatever else. The rest of the household has left you alone. This is quality time with the people who have watched your back, and taught you whatever they could.]
OOC Notes
+ Each thread here is for one-on-one conversations between players and their respective mentors. Group shenanigans can be played out on the table, if you guys like.
+ Noey and I are going to bring his conversation with Malia on the table!

So it's okay to call out your blade mates when they want to do something stupid, right?
[ Thanks Tala and takes a small sip. ]
Cos sometimes even if I want to, I'm too uhm... Shy I guess? Like sometimes I want to smack them in the head for thinking they can do things on their own.
[ Another small sip. ]
I mean I'm used to speaking my mind and all, but with them it's just different. I feel like I can't just say what I want to in front of them.

[She's drinking hers down in full, and pouring another one. She knows how to hold her liquor, and doesn't care to be needlessly graceful about it.]
You're the one who stands closest to them. You're in the best position to keep them from doing something that they'll regret, or telling them off when you're too late to stop them.

At this point, she's just nodding in agreement, looking like she's just learned something new. No matter how loud, friendly and open she's been to her blade, she's still keeping a few things under wraps. ]
Why don't you talk to her then? Or... Have you?
no subject
There's no point to it, really. She's all about deny-deny-denying good advice, even when it hits her right in the face. Believe me, I've tried.
no subject
So she's just that difficult, huh?
no subject
[Oh. My. God.
That is what her expression says.]
no subject
But you guys have been together for a long time. Wouldn't you have like, sorta fixed that by now?
no subject
no subject
Real quietly now, because she wants to learn more about her bestie, and also because she can learn a thing or two from this, being a Changeling herself. ]
What about you? I mean, what did you get from those fifty years?
no subject
She is also fetching her cigarettes and lighting up.]
I learned that I was not good enough, but that I was okay because I simply had to do what I can. I also learned that power is as only good as the people who have it.
no subject
Okay, well since we're on the topic of not being good enough... I read up on some Courts stuff for Changelings.
[ She's looking at Tala with BIG eyes as if expecting her bestie to fill in the rest for her. ]
no subject
[Good times, those. She's very grateful to Maria for... well. Everything.]
no subject
Uhm, well I was hoping you could help me out with those. I decided to ask you because you might be more familiar with them. What happens in that court?
no subject
[Hee.]
It's a pretty sweet deal, actually. Being part of a Court that's aligned to the Vigil gives you a little more protection against the Gentry. It also makes it easier to meet other Lost, and maybe make new friends.
no subject
Oooh, I could use some extra security, yeah. I'd... want to help out others too, just as you helped me.

She looks at Tala with confusion plastered on her face. ]

You're still new to this, Bri. Courts only take notably strong Changeling, and they also look for specific skill sets. You're getting there, and I'll make sure that you get there in record time, but for now? Best if you figure out which Court you'll like to be a part of.
no subject
I trust you will. God, I swear I'd be so lost without you. I've talked to Lia about it just yesterday, asked for her take on it. Cause yknow, I just want to be sure and all. This isn't something I want to do half-assed.
[ Ooc: lol sakto, first she asks Hikaru a general question, then narrows down kay Lia, then final "consultation" with Tala! :3 ]
no subject
['Half-cocked'. Talk about a Mordechai moment. OH WELL, HE'S DADDYSTAIR ANYWAY~]
I'll make sure to put in a good word for you once you're set. They all love me.
[ooc: perfection. =w=]
no subject
OH. MYGOD YES that would be amazing!! I swear I'll still work hard and you won't regret this at all! And I don't see why they wouldn't love you. [ She winks at Tala because she is the epitome of everything amazing in Brianna's eyes. ]
no subject
Yeah, well. I'm the best.
no subject
Speaking of getting better... ]
Alistair won't mind if I ask for shooting lessons from him, will he?
no subject
[She won't settle for anything less.]
no subject
Thanks Tala, I know you're kidding but it'd mean so much to me if he said yes willingly!
