Waking the Dead 2.0 || May 18, 2063 || The Mandatory Hot Springs Episode

[The skies are clear, the air is cool, and overall? Conditions are perfect for spending the entire afternoon and maybe even the entire night at the hot springs within Seigi. It's open to Zangyaku operatives and their families, along with any of their guests.

Oh, they're also communal. Surely no one minds? It's just skin, after all.

You're allowed to smoke, drink and eat while you're chilling out in the pools. You can also play cards, have a round (or several) of ping pong, flop around... anything goes, as long as you don't kill anybody!]



OOC Notes:
+ Make your own threads, plot out your own shenanigans and whatever else. Just remember: War Hounds and the rest were probably invited there after lunch, and are more than welcome to spend the rest of the day there. Y'all might want to specify the time. :3
+ NPCs are available on call beyond the threads I set up in here (if I end up setting some up, anyway)! Lemme know if you have questions.

[So An'yu kind of has one pool all to himself for a good reason: he's with Sadaharu.

Not Sadaharu, Big Version. Sadaharu, semi-portable. That still covers half the ring of the pool.

He's a big, friendly Pandoran dragon, okay. He also happens to have his head plopped on his claws, and appears to be taking a nap. As for An'yu, he's lounging around in the pool, arm over the edge, smoking, enjoying his sake, keeping his head against the big lug's body.

[No, you're not going to be treated to the sight of Tohru Fukuzawa lollygagging in those pools.

What you will see him doing, though, is sitting out on one of the porches that overlooks the horizon, legs crossed, smoking from a pipe with a bottle of sake close at hand.

The smoke from that pipe smells... suspicious.

[ She pokes in on Tohru, quietly announcing her presence before walking up to him because respect. ]

Uhm, hi Tohru! [ She plops down a good two feet away from him. She points to the pipe he's smoking. ]

Is that like special tobacco?

[Taning in a towel (no fundoshi, no sir) wanders over to where his master is sitting after catching a whiff of whatever it is he's smoking.]

Hello, shisho. [He sits beside him.] Mind if I join you?

...Any time, really. He's constantly wandering around.

[Have one Blade King kicking around in a yukata, dropping in on... pretty much everyone. If there's no one to bug, he's usually somewhere in the periphery, smoking, maybe taking sake, smiling as he's watching everyone else have fun.

He's one to wander, yep. And what he's wearing might just give people a generous view of those tattoos of his. The same could be said for any of Zangyaku's oni-tsukai, really. They're much like yakuza, in that sense.

Feel free to bug him. You know he likes that sort of thing.]

[Sometime after sunset, the strains of a koto can be heard permeating through the area. The songs are not traditional, though.

Whodathunk that you could make a koto version of familiar EDM tunes? Then again, this is Selene Vega. She can make anything happen as long as it's got something to do with music.

She's sitting out in the open air, right by the patio of the one of the houses that overlooks the pools. She's perfectly content with being on her own, but is sure to welcome the company or admiring listeners.]

[ Brigade hears the music and his curiosity is immediately piqued. Here is a woman he only knows as Selene Vega, but he has not yet had time to read the files on her. He takes it as an opportunity to not be Netsach for a change. The "research" on individuals has become a thing, ever since he joined the organization. He misses the adventure of meeting someone without knowing anything about them; like how you would on a normal day. ]

[ He's still deciding if he should take a dip again. He decides he'd like to speak with this one first. ]

Uhm, good evening, Ma'am. [ He approaches respectfully ] I heard your music and couldn't help but want to get to know the one playing EDM on a koto. I'm Brigade, Ma'am.

[ Brianna sits down nearby. She's holding two glasses of rum cola. She carefully places one near Selene and smiles at her. ]

[ Josh is wandering around when the sound of a familiar tune catches on his ears. He recognizes the progresion of notes but is unable to place why it sounds so different. Eventually though, he peeks around the corner to find Selene Vega, and his brows lift at the sight of her playing the koto.

He's keeping out of sight, not wanting to disturb her. ]

Mid to late evening

[She arrives without announcement, and - after checking up on everyone in the area and making sure that they are all enjoying themselves - she is disappearing into the changing rooms. When she steps out, her hair is up, and she is in nothing but a towel.

It is normal, is it not? This is an onsen, after all.

Taking a dip now, and enjoying the water together with some sake and one of her pipes. She's occasionally joined by her Whisperers or members of the Searing Wind, but generally? Everyone leaves her to her own devices.]

[ Yulia thought she'd be okay with the hot springs. And then she found out it was communal. That was okay. Until she remembered Mexico. And then she wasn't okay.

Because the standard procedure, apparently, was to go in with just a towel, a bathing suit, or nothing at all.

But she really, really wanted to bathe in the springs (how could she pass that opportunity up?). It takes her a while to gather up the courage and just walk out there in her towel, but eventually she does. It's really a good thing she's dexterous enough not to trip or slip, so she manages to get into the spring without making too much noise or commotion.

She also makes sure to sink in low enough in the water so nothing would show too much.

And it just so happens that Yulia is close to the side where Kasumi is. So she smiles (awkwardly) and nods a hello. ]

[ His mind has tactically gone through every angle he can think of. The most strategic way to do this: Just approach Kasumi and sit down like it were nothing.

After Taning's little comment earlier, Brig's worried that Hikaru may know about his evening conversations with the Lady of the Night. But Brig isn't hiding anything; he just wants to keep things on the down low cause he's not quite sure about what he's been doing, or feeling. He knows Kaz overheard the comment too. He'll probably tell Kaz soon. Get it off his chest. See what his blademate thinks.

Brig brings with him a bottle of sake. He takes off his towel as he sits down beside Kasumi in the water. ]

I hope you don't mind if I join you, Kasumi-san. [ He smiles as he offers to pour for her as her cup's running dry ]

[This one looks a bit like an old man, or maybe a dog. He's stretched out on one of the patios, smoking, drinking beer. Oddly enough, he looks good in a yukata. Most gaijin like himself would appear boorish, or awkward at best.

He'll pass on the hot springs, okay. But maybe he's okay with watching and being bugged. Maybe.]

[Kaz finds Alistair smoking (like that's not a thing), and goes over to join him. Since he learned that his former mentor kissed Hikaru, his perception of the past few days got cast in a new light.]

[If you're poking this one, she could be anywhere. She's the tiny golden fox with a whole lot of tails peeking in on people, occasionally flopping down to "nap" by the water, padding daintily across the patios or through the rooms.

It's nice just being with people. Being seen. It's been a long, long time.]

Because early afternoon shenanigans. And Brig has yet to CR with her!:D

[ After Brigade takes a look around the area, he sits himself down at a portion of the patio overlooking the pools and spots the Kitsune Setsuna Shinta meandering where she chooses. ]

Good afternoon, Ma'am. [ He gives her a friendly nod before lighting a cigarette. ]

[That is a cute fox. He knows it's Setsuna Shinta, but...

He crouches beside her and IN SPITE OF ALL SELF-PRESERVATION FLAGS... scratches the fox between the ears. WHY TANING WHY.]

[Finding Setsuna wasn't exactly on Kaz's list, but when he does find a small golden fox by the water, he simply finds a spot next to her and sits, content mostly to take a break.]

Yes, he's working on his tablet. In fact, he has used his magic to cut out a little box in the water so that he can put his tablet down safely whenever he needs to. The thing is also waterproof, just to preempt any accidents.

Tala bullied convinced him to do this. He needed a break, she said.

So, he's taking a break.

[ She walks by him, does a double take, then goes down and pokes him. ]

Watcha working on? [ She's peeking at his tablet cos well gee, the water is... not there. ]

[Tala Vega loves hot springs. They're just like beaches, only classier.

No towels for this one. She's in a bathing suit. One of her prettiest. She's currently lounging against the side of one of the pools, smiling to herself, giving everyone the eye.

She's sexy and she knows it.]

[After Taning accosts Tohru, does one really expect him to come out of it sober? Nope. Have a high-as-fuck Taning (thankfully, not as high as back in Baguio), randomly walking around and smiling at people. He catches sight of the ping-pong table and ambles over, watching the younger operatives playing a game.

He decides to pick up a paddle and ask if he could join. The young'uns, curious about this newcomer that happens to be close to their Dear Leader, lets him. Mistake. Iaido translates well to pingpong, man.

Then he spots Kaz walking by, looking like he's looking for fun things to do.]

Hey-y-y-y, Kaz! Want to play a round with me?

[An onsen. You'd think Kaz, being who he is, has been to one before. To be fair, he and Nico made plans once... Things got in the way. So he wanders about this one now, admiring the beauty of it. His yukata is nice and soft, and he wonders if he can get one to lounge about in at home when he hears Taning call out to him.]

Kuya? Ping pong, really?

[He smiles and ambles over, but not before noting that Taning has a smile on his face. The kind that screams mischief.]

At around 8 PM

[So these two have comandeered one of the largest pools all for themselves. There are a lot of sake bottles lining the edge of it.

A lot. Of sake bottles.

They're also noisy as fuck, by the way.]

I'm imagining something like the Budweiser "wasap!?" commercial happening. haha

[ Brig finally sees the Brand twins in a situation other than letting Yulia try to kill them. All he can think of is how they remind him of the loud, rowdy, beer-chugging groups among the men of the HECATON back in WWII.

He likes these guys already.

He goes up to them and carries with him (one under each arm and one in each hand) four cases (24 bottles each) of beer he'd found from the caretakers of the onsen.

He sets them cases down by the side of the pool, near the sake bottles, and then fishes from inside his yukata, four large bottles of sake.

He looks at them seriously and speaks only two words. ]

Beer? [ Holding out two bottles of beer in his left hand ] Sake? [ Holding out one of the big bottles of sake in his right hand ]
